The Senior Adult Ministry of Central Baptist Church is for all those 55 years and up!

Our Mission Statement

Senior Adults are prayer warriors and spiritual leaders, and it is their vision for ministry and church growth that helps strengthen the church’s spiritual foundation. Senior adult ministry should encourage seniors to continue shaping their life legacy and using their spiritual gifts in the church and community.

John and Debbie Maurer, Directors of Senior Adult Ministry

After 18 years of operating their own business, John & Debbie Maurer answered God’s call to serve as Directors of Senior Adult Ministry. They oversee Senior Adult events, activities, & trips. Other responsibilities include hospital, nursing home, & shut-in visitations, as well as the organization of volunteers for the Billy Graham Phone Center. John & Debbie’s ministry is deeply committed to finding effective ways for Senior Adults to pass on teachings, blessings, & experiences to the next generation. Married since 1970, they have 2 married children & 5 grandchildren. John is an Aggie, class of ’71, & they have been members of Central since 1995.

Kelley Cummins, Senior Adult Ministry Assistant

Kelley is originally from Corsicana, TX. She graduated in August of 2009 from Texas A&M with a degree in Communication. While in college she was active in Central’s University Ministry serving as a Logos Bible Study leader and coordinator. In October 2011 she married her college sweetheart Brian Cummins. Brian is pursuing his PhD at Texas A&M in Biomedical Engineering. Working in the Senior Adult Ministry here at Central is Kelley’s first full-time job, and she considers it such a blessing to get to know and serve with such wise and faithful people as the Senior Adults of Central.
